En 1960, la 500 devient
500 D. Fiat lance en même
temps la version fourgon-
nette, la Fiat 500 Giardi-
niera. Elle est nommée
"D" simplement parce
qu'elle correspond à la 4
e
version après la base, la Normale "A", la Sport "B" et la Tetto
Apribile "C". Elle garde la même carrosserie, légèrement re-
touchée, notamment au niveau des feux avant et arrière, pour
se conformer aux évolutions du code de la route italien en la
matière, et conserve le moteur de la version Sport dont la puis-
sance a été ramenée à 17,5 ch. Elle pèse 500 kg et la capacité
de son réservoir d'essence a été portée à 22 litres, sa vitesse
maximum atteint 95 km/h. Elle vient remplacer la version
Sport qui est abandonnée.
Cette version restera inchangée pendant cinq ans, d'octobre
1960 à mars 1965. Au total, 640 518 exemplaires de la version
"D" seront produits.
Notre véhicule à bénéficié d’une restauration complète il y a
quelques années. Elle n’a depuis que très peu roulé.

In 1960, the 500 becomes the 500 D. Fiat launches at the same time the
van version, the Fiat 500 Giardiniera. It is named "D" simply because it
corresponds to the 4e version after the basis, the Normal "A", the Sport
"B" and the Tetto Apribile "C". It keeps the same bodywork, slightly re-
touched, notably the front and rear lights, to comply to the developments in
the Italian highway code in the subject, and retains the engine of the sport
version whose power was reduced to 17.5 HP. It weighs 500 kg and the
capacity of its gasoline tank has been increased to 22 liters, its maximum
speed reaches 95 km/h. It just replaced the sport version which was abandoned.
This version will remain unchanged over the next five years, from October 1960 to March 1965. In total, 640,518 copies of the version
"D" were produced.
Our vehicle has benefited from a full restoration a few years ago and has since been very infrequently driven.
